People scoffed when Virginia Beach entrepreneur Frank Batten launched The Weather Channel way back when in 1982. I mean, who would want to watch a 24-7 weather channel except a few weather geeks like this writer? Since that time TWC has become a mainstay for weather afficianados although with the advent of the internet and such harder-core weather websites like AccuWeather.com it has been forced to change its formats to keep attracting viewers. As a result viewers see fewer in-depth reports from professional meteorologists like winter weather expert Paul Kocin in favor of half-hour programs which have weather as a background but seek a larger audience than uber weather geeks.
But a constant at TWC since its launch have been hot weather babes who no doubt attract a wide male (and some female?) viewership. TWC veterans will recall the debate from the old days as to who's hotter -- Jill Brown or Jeanetta Jones. And one former TWC "on-air personality" sued the company for age discrimination in its hiring practices.
But that was yesterday and today is today and today we've got weather galore from today's storm which is progged to dump some heavy snows into NE to this weekend's potential big Nor'easter. So to warm up this winter melange it's time for you to vote on your favorite "hot weather babe" of today's TWC lineup. As for me, I'm partial to Alexandra Steele as she used to be on the air here in DC and is hot in person as she is on the tube. So have at it.
